On 6th June 2014, Rory Stewart MP inaugurated the revitalised Hall at a Reception for invited guests including funders, organisers, consultants, supporters, local authorities and various local organisations.

There was a range of other activities on the day - an audio visual display open to all....

...an official opening of the Coffee Shop by current and previous caretakers Sylvia Tuer and Annie Howe....

... featuring lots of cake ...

...a Mini Olympics involving children aged 5-8 ...

... and a rock concert in the evening by New England featuring Threlkeld musician George Moulder

The Banner for Threlkeld was unveiled today in the Main Hall, displaying a stitched map of Threlkeld and significant buildings with sheep and flowers placed between.

The Village Hall re-opened in all it's glory last night.

A lovely evening was had by all, thanks to everyone who joined us and also to the brilliant duo Blackheart.

The Coffee Shop welcomed its first customers!

Amongst the comments made by customers were:

"We loved the new and gorgeous Village Hall"

"Fab coffee shop, spectacular views and scrummy eats". The best carrot cake ever -a perfect stop off after Bowscale Fell today"

"The best cappucino I have ever tasted"

"Amazing - I did not think we would ever pull this off"

The newly appointed team (Manager Katherine Lynch and Baristas Paulo Resende, Emma Weir and Hannah Wignall) all worked incredibly hard to make this first weekend a success.

and the cakes were to die for...

Everything is falling into place now, with the last push to get the coffee shop ready for opening tomorrow morning.

Great progress has also been made in the main hall, with most of the new flooring down. Nearly there!
