A concert by the Community choir – Committed 2 Rock.  This choir was founded in Whtehaven with 15 members in 2008 by choir director Cath Marcangelo and is accompanied by John Marcangelo on keyboards and Chris Knowles on guitar. Cath’s love of harmony and general enthusiasm soon resulted in more singers and now there are 3 choirs in Whitehaven, Keswick and Penrith with a total of around 300 people making great music.

The choir sings all your favourite popular songs of all musical genres from Jazz to Heavy Rock, from Ballads to Latin American and from Blues to Country. So, come along and enjoy the power of Keswick Committed2Rock Community choir and this amazing choir will have you rocking in the aisles.

As well as performing great music, the choir raises money for charity and has raised over £110,000 for local charities. The performance in Threlkeld Village Hall on Friday 17th July will be in aid of Amy’s Care. Amy’s Care is a family run Community Interest Company based in North Cumbria on the edge of the Lake District National Park. It was inspired by and named after founder Fraser Dooley’s Grandma Amy.  Amy’s Care specialises in providing daycare through social clubs for older adults and in particular for those living with dementia. The aim is to provide a stimulating and engaging environment that promotes inclusion leading to a fulfilled life.

The charity concert at Threlkeld starts at 7:30pm. Bar and Box Office from 7pm. Tickets are £10 (£5 under 18s) from Threlkeld Village Hall Coffee Shop, the village PO or on-line here below by credit or debite card or by Paypal.  Tickets bought on-line will be available for collection at the Box Office on the night.
