Come by bike....

The long distance C2C cycle route passes through Threlkeld en route from Keswick to Penrith. Bridges on the railway path were destroyed by the 2015 floods but for details of detours click here (opens in new window).

Keswick to Threlkeld railway path impassable

There are now new routes available for the Keswick to Threlkeld railway path, following the destruction of bridges by the 2015 floods.

Drive ...

Threlkeld is located off the A66 in Cumbria, 4 miles east of Keswick and 13 miles west of Penrith.

From Penrith, junction 40 on the M6, follow signs to Keswick and after 13 miles turn right into Threlkeld Village.  Do not follow your Sat Nav after this point - the Village Hall is located 1/2 mile along on the left hand side.

From Keswick follow signs to Penrith and after 4 miles take the first left signposted Threlkeld. The Village Hall is 1/2 mile along on the right hand side.

Walk....

Bridges on the railway path were destroyed by the 2015 floods but for details of detours click here (opens in new window).  As you approach Threlkeld you are likely to spot red squirrels crossing the road.

The Village Hall is on your right.

Catch a train ...

The nearest railway station is at Penrith which is on the main West Coast line between London and Glasgow.  Buses and taxis are available directly outside the station.

There is disabled access at both the front and the rear of the building.
